Although not a rose that has been hybridised this variety was identified at the property of the Bond family as a sport or mutation of a red rose they grew. The name ‘Special Bond’ is appropriate to their discovery of it. With their approval the rose has been propagated for purchase by those wanting to give a gift to someone special, or in memorial. The highly fragrant blooms are borne on thornless stems on a free flowering bush.
